Dana Horlick is a personal injury lawyer at Lewis & Keller. Her educational journey was jump-started by attending the Early College at Guilford, located in Greensboro, at the encouragement of her father. It was at the Early College at Guilford that one of her professors first planted the idea of her becoming an attorney. Dana then attended and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. (Go Heels!) After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, Dana attended Wake Forest University School of Law. During law school, she interned for the High Point Public Defender’s office, as well as a firm focusing on workers’ compensation claims. She also assisted one of her professors in the research that went into a text-book on cemetery law, one of the first of its kind. Dana subsequently obtained her J.D. and became licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina. She spent the first year or so after graduating law school practicing family law. While that experience was valuable and informative, she then decided to make the switch to personal injury and hasn’t looked back since.
Working at Lewis & Keller has given her invaluable experience, as well as being surrounded by a team of experienced and knowledgeable coworkers who have provided a wealth of information and advice. Being able to assist clients in obtaining compensation and working towards the most beneficial resolution on each and every file is very rewarding. Each and every day poses unique challenges and keeps things interesting. Whether it’s negotiating a claim, evaluating a case for litigation, discussing the case with the client, or at settlement – each piece of the puzzle continues to be gratifying. Dana relishes each and every opportunity to assist a client in recovering from an event – typically a car crash – that can be very traumatic. At the conclusion of a case, the client’s reaction makes each and every step leading up to that point well worth it.
On a personal note, Dana is from Greensboro, North Carolina – born and raised. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing with her dogs, traveling, and riding horses. As all of her coworkers, family, and friends can attest to, Dana is a huge fan of dogs and will take any opportunity to talk about them. She is the eldest of three children and has been heavily influenced by both of her parents.
